Jesus I am So In Love With You...

Have you ever sung along to that song in the car or during worship service at your church? I believe I sang it for the first time just a few Sundays ago. I marveled at the song...not for its composition nor lyrics - but the whole idea of being in love with Jesus. I can fully say I love Jesus...but am I in love with Jesus? Granted the song is not inferring some type of eros or romantic love, but deep passionate agape - seeking the best for Him. Hmmmm.... I was also awestruck by what that would mean. Well, I say I love my Jesus and yet I just cannot get my self out of bed in time to be in the word and pray each morning. Each afternoon during my children's nap & quiet time I find numerous other things to "do first" then read and pray. Usually one of my kids needs me before I get to the Bible and prayer. I want to live life like I DO love Jesus and am in love with Jesus. Whilst singing this heart the LORD really impressed upon my heart that Jesus is the word, ...

Now is the Time to Worship

"I never knew how to worship until I knew how to love." -Henry Ward Beecher There is a passage in the Bible that is often completely misunderstood, made fun of and the like. It is the account of Abraham taking his son Isaac up the mountain as a sacrifice to the L ORD . I read it totally different. Here I see a Father who had waited what seemed like an eternity to have a child willing to loose his greatest joy for honoring God. Many say that Abraham was a freak or hateful and how dare God ask him to do such a thing. A God like that isn't worth any of my time say others. However, the request is to reveal Abraham's heart - not to take from him his life's treasure, his son. It is also to reveal how God feels in regards to when he gives up his son for many. Abraham is a man who loves God and desires to honor him with his life - all of it. My favorite part is highlighted in purple. Here I read that Abraham was willing to take his son, but knew that God would pr...
Psalm 89 5 All heaven will praise your great wonders, L ord ; myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness. 6 For who in all of heaven can compare with the L ord ? What mightiest angel is anything like the L ord ? 7 The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne. (New Living Translation)

No title, no real sense of direction, just sort of a rambling rose... Here again you find me blogging a wee bit late. Late, I guess the deadline is created by me so "late" is up to my own self. I am tired. No, exhausted. I finally got the desperate sleep last nite that my body/mind has been craving. As a mother of two boys under the age of Four, I can see why interrogators choose sleep deprivation to get into the minds of people. I'd give away the Colonel's secret recipe for a good nites sleep! However, in these moments of bleak desperation I find my heart and head is really ready to listen to God's voice. My heart seeks Him, my soul is enraptured with worshiping him in song (mostly in my head and sometimes right out loud). I become more acute with life and the really important things. The sort of things that have nothing to do with what I don't have or who I should be or look like. Watching my kids breathing whilst sleeping and reliving the miracle...

Welcome to the May Issue! We are now five months into reading through the Bible…how’s it going? If you miss a day, just pick up with the next day’s reading. Don’t get bogged down in trying to make it up, or you might not. With the newness of spring, let us be renewed in our hearts to worship God with our whole lives. The Heart of Worship Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them (Deuteronomy 11:16). This was a clear warning to the Israelites as they were preparing to inhabit the Promised Land. I think today it is just as clear for us, whatever land we live in. We are even told by God not to embrace other religious traditions and ideology and put God’s name to it, The Israelites began incorporating “cool” things from their surrounding culture/communities into their lives. They even began to embrace the macabre as “cool” and God said this through his prophet: “ You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, b...
