The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Remember when Joshua led the Israelites around Jericho once every day for 6 days? Imagine how they were mocked from the city walls! Then to top it off on the seventh day they went around and around and then shouted and blew trumpets. The Jerichoians must have thought the people of God were insane, totally out of touch with society and norms, lacking in any clarity and then....whammo! The walls came a tumbling down! The Israelites had to do some strange things that week, but God asked them to do it to show them the battle belongs to Him. Their walking did not knock down the wall. Just don't try to do the battle part. You...

Post Secrets

Real Truth - Honesty We hide many things, lots of things from others. Sometimes it is to "protect" them, sometimes ourselves or others. I recently came across an online posting of secrets. People sent a man postcards with only their secret and his mailing address. He collected them, turned them into books and a website. The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion ; proclaim among the nations what he has done. (Psalm 9:9-11) I am beginning to know the Lord as my refuge and a stronghold. I am learning more names of God, like my provider, my redeemer, my salvation, my strength, my comfort, etc. and my heart at the same time is beginning to open up and trust him. This issue I wish to touch on the topic of trust. We all trust God for and with different things. Sometimes we trust him with everything and sometimes we trust him with a few things. Sometimes we test him to see what we can truly trust him with. Miriam-Webster lists some synonyms of the word trust as; confidence, credence, faith and stock. Then lists some antonyms as; distrust, mistrust and near antonyms as; disbelief, incredulity, unbelief; doubt, dubiousn...
