Accepting the Challenge

Is there something challenging God is asking you to do? It could be something small, or enormous. Maybe it is talking to someone at work, or perhaps not talking to someone. I think challenges are laid before us everyday. Certainly not all of them are as insane as what Job went through - but perhaps some days, for some of us they can be. What we do with them, how we go through them, our experiences, our testimony of God's faithfulness to others observing our failures and successes as complete them - these are equally as important as the challenges themselves. My current challenge is a tag sale (by other names, garage sale or yard sale). At first it was just a simple means to get rid of stuff. Then I felt pressed to make it more meaningful. My heart was drawn towards making it a fund raiser for Gospel for Asia , and more specifically for the purchase of animals for Dalit families . Don't Fly Off the Handle

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit.
